1.	parentheses는 문장을 완성하는 데에 꼭 필요한 것이 아닌 여분의 정보를 추가하고자 할 때 사용한다.
1	The books (but not the poems) were on the list of reading for the course.
2	It was a dream (although a hazy one) of an ideal state, one in which poverty did not exist.
3	In an hour's time (some say less) the firemen had extinguished the flames.



2.	parentheses는 어떤 하위 구분된 시리즈 임을 나타내기 위하여 번호나 알파벳을 괄호치기를 하여 사용된다.
1	A movement in sonata form consists of the following sections: (a) the exposition; (b) the development; and (c) the recapitulation, which is often followed by a coda.
